I'm Beth, a Washington DC-based health and run coach, who used to choose cupcakes over kale. 

In 2009, I was lost. I was carrying extra weight physically and emotionally. I had an unhealthy relationship with food and my body. But, something clicked inside me to set upon finding what truly nourished me. Having never been a runner, let alone an athlete, I laced up a pair of running shoes, experimented with different foods and eventually found a lifestyle that worked for me. It was a bumpy road, but from that initial decision to clean up my life, I have accomplished more than I ever though possible. I discovered how truly capable and strong I am. 

Running changed my life, and to this day, I'm deeply passionate about it. 

This motivated me to pursue certifications to ensure more people can reach their optimal health. 

I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I studied a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods. I also hold a personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine, and am a certified running coach through the Road Runners Club of America. In addition to my health certifications, I hold both bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism. 

Dozens of running shoes later, I fell deeply in love with the sports of running and triathlon. This new-found love allowed me to push myself in ways I never thought possible, and I owe so much of my personal and professional success to the sport or running.

(And what is 'runger'? It's the sensation that you get when you run so often that you're always hungry as a result.)

What have I learned throughout all of this? Anyone has the power to change their lives for the better.
